50g - Chenpi (Dried Citrus Peel) – 2024 Batch

Our Chenpi, or dried citrus peel, crafted by air-drying the peel of mandarins (Citrus reticulata). This method preserves the peel’s active compounds, retaining the full benefits of both the albedo and flavedo, which are rich in essential oils known for their potent antioxidant properties.

The ideal aging period for maximum potency is between three to five years, making it a sought-after ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine and cuisine.

Our 2024 batch is now available for purchase, use it immediately, or age it further in a dry, dark place (such as your refrigerator) to enhance its therapeutic and culinary benefits. In China, aged Chenpi is highly preferred for both its health benefits and rich flavor.

Culinary & Medicinal Uses:

Chenpi is a star ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine, falling under the category of nutraceuticals, foods with therapeutic properties. A classic and simple preparation is black tea infused with Chenpi, steeped for at least five minutes at 90°C, and consumed 1–2 times a day for its soothing and health-boosting effects.
